Industry Masterclasses and Workshops

At LSA we believe it's vital for our young people to be aware of the scope of roles available to them within the creative industries. Our students attend an industry masterclass each week, providing them with the opportunity to hear from professionals working within the industry and benefit from their knowledge and experience. All students are given the opportunity to co-host a masterclass, posing questions directly to the speaker, while developing their professionalism and range of industry contacts.

Classroom drop-ins

The development of up to date hands on professional skills is a crucial part of the vocational learning at LSA. We invite industry professionals into our classrooms to impart their knowledge to our students - be that Gaffers teaching Technical students how to light their sets; Costume Designers working with Craft students to teach them how to age costumes; or Location Managers providing tips on location scouting.

Industry Mentoring Programme

In Year 13 LSA students are provided with the opportunity to work with an industry mentor over a 5 month period. The LSA Mentoring Programme is designed to develop the professionalism of the participating student mentees as they work closely with their industry mentor. Through these professional relationships, our students obtain 1:1 careers advice, increase their understanding of the variety of roles available and make crucial contacts within their chosen specialism.

Industry Work Experience Programme

During their second year at LSA our Yr 13 students are encouraged to undertake work experience within one of LSA's Industry partners. A huge variety of work experience opportunities are available to ensure that students can experience first hand the work involved in the sector in which they aspire to develop their career. The LSA Work Experience Programme offers opportunities accessible to all students - ranging in duration from 1 day to 2 weeks; across all stages of the project life cycle and in a variety of sectors, including - Television, Feature Films, Commercials, Animation, Music Videos.

Alumni Programme

At LSA we understand that our young people would benefit from support as they enter into the workplace, which is why provide our graduating students with access to the LSA Alumni Programme. This programme provides further training and networking opportunities to encourage our alumni to share ideas, information about upcoming jobs and provide a peer to peer support network to guide our alumni through their first few years in the industry.
