we need your support

LSA is committed to giving talented young people, no matter their background, the opportunities to build a successful career in the creative industries and beyond.

As a sixth form Academy, we receive funding from the Department for Education. However, this funding only covers the core curriculum costs. In order to provide our students with world class facilities and equipment, a unique opportunity to engage with industry, arts and culture, and services to support their wellbeing, the Screen Academy Foundation needs to raise an additional £1,500,000 each year to supplement the Government funding. This funding covers a range of programmes and initiatives, including but not limited to:

INDUSTRY ENGAGEMENT

What makes LSA unique is our access to and partnership with Industry. We offer masterclasses, practical workshops, industry weeks, work placements, internships, career guidance and a pathway into the industry for our students. Making this all happen requires a dedicated team.

MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES

Counselling services for any student who requires them, as well as a range of pastoral and wellness programmes.

CULTURAL ENGAGEMENT

Trips to the theatre, cinema, concerts, museums and other cultural events / institutions to broaden students horizons.

TRAVEL BURSARIES

Zone 1-6 travel cards to students for whom the cost of travel to and from school would be prohibitive.

SUBSIDISED HEALTHY MEALS

All of our students benefit from subsidised, healthy food at school each day, irrespective of whether or not they meet the government income threshold (£16,900 per annum for a family) for free school meals.

COMPUTERS + IT

Laptops, iMacs & iPads. All students receive an iPad for the duration of their time at the LSA, levelling the playing field between those who can afford their own device and those who cannot.

EQUIPMENT

Documentary/EPK cameras, Film/Drama cameras, Sound kit, Stills cameras, Video Kit, Grip equipment, Lighting equipment, sound mixing equipment & grading equipment.
