COURSES

The curriculum at LSA provides students with a broad knowledge of the many skills and disciplines within the screen and creative industries.

Our unique Film and TV curriculum has been designed alongside leading industry experts so that we can deliver real-world, relevant education that prepares students for future careers and further/higher education. Our programme is focused on project based learning so students can explore their ideas, interests and talents.

Perhaps even more important than all of the technical, industry-specific skills students learn at LSA, are the transferable skills that are learnt here. So much of working in film and TV is about collaborating and communicating with others. The way in which students are taught at LSA allows them to build confidence in working in a group whilst developing leadership skills. LSA is different from school. We put an emphasis on students really taking ownership of their own time and projects, giving them key skills in time management, planning and prioritising. This also develops their administrative skills. We want students of LSA to be confident, self aware and able to adapt to change! The skills they leave with are key for any industry, not just film and TV and if there is one thing we want you to know, it’s that LSA doesn’t box students into one path. Building up these key transferable skills is necessary for students to follow their passions in the future, whether that be film & TV or something else.

Level 3 LSA students study the UAL Level 3 Diploma/ Extended Diploma in Creative Practice; this qualification is equivalent to three A-Levels and requires students to spend 15 hours per week learning about Film + TV.

Level 4 students will study either the UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Creative Enterprise or the UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Technical & Production Practice for the Creative Industries.
