technical

The Technical department is all about learning the nuts and bolts of how to use film cameras, set up lights and capture sounds for Film + TV. Most people now have a camera on their phone but what would you do if you were faced with an industry standard camera? Would you understand what lenses to use? Do you know the best frame rate or bit rate to record in? In the Technical department you will learn all about this in addition to learning about how to set up camera support equipment and lights, thinking about electrical safety and creative outcomes to set the tone of scene. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn about how to record sound, different microphones, sound recording environments and ways to edit the sound to tell your story.
