Meet our Course Leader, Mik

Mik studied a degree in Film and Media Studies at Sunderland University, where he also qualified as a teacher in 2006. After spending time working freelance in the film industry as an editor and scriptwriter Mik has dedicated the last 15 years to creative education. Starting by establishing and managing highly successful courses in film and media in North East of England and then moving to London to set up the world class Film Production and Games Design and Development departments at ELAM. Mik’s motivations come from an increasing dissatisfaction by the lack of alternative progression routes to university for young creatives, particularly considering how much of a barrier university acts as for many students. Mik has designed the Level 4 Creative Enterprise course, to provide students with a genuine alternative to university and a real platform to get into the creative industries.
