Rishi was toured around the building by our Principal, Charlie, and three of LSA’s Founders including Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and David Heyman, as new figures revealed that over 41,000 jobs and 450 productions have been supported by the government’s Film + TV Production Restart Scheme.

Rishi checked out LSA’s facilities as Year 12 and Year 13 students worked on completing their Final Major Projects (FMPs) for the year. Along his tour, Rishi visited the Hair + Make Up Studio, the Costume Department and Editing Suites. Rishi also visited studio spaces where a Spaceship interior and Charles Dickens themed street exterior have been constructed for filming.

Of the visit, Rishi said: “it was great to see so many talented young people here today at the London Screen Academy getting the practical skills they need to get on the career ladder in an industry we have supported through the pandemic.”

As part of the visit, Rishi spent time with four Year 13 students Salma, Saul, Dylan and Sara for a short interview. They spoke about the Restart Scheme and the importance of the screen industries to the UK economy, opportunities for young people and the future - check out the interview linked below.

The Government launched a £500 million Film + TV Production Restart Scheme to support productions across the country that have been halted or delayed by an inability to obtain insurance for Covid-19 related risks.
